  • Anxiety Disorders- Anxiety disorders are caused by irrational fears about objects, places, people, events or health by perceiving them as a threat to their lives.
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder- It is a common, chronic disorder in which individuals have uncontrollable, reoccurring thoughts (obsessions) and behaviours (compulsions) that they feel the urge to repeat over and over.
  • Acute and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder- Acute stress disorder is characterized by the development of severe anxiety, dissociation, and other symptoms that occurs within one month after exposure to an extreme traumatic stressor (e.g., witnessing a death or serious accident).

  • Addictive Disorders- Certain illegal drugs can cause people with an addiction to experience one or more symptoms of a mental health problem. Mental health problems can sometimes lead to alcohol or drug use, as some people with a mental health problem may misuse these substances as a form of self-medication.
  • Eating Disorders- Eating disorders include the urge for people to control their weight and shape and use extreme efforts that tend to significantly interfere with their lives. The weight reduction is linked to coping with emotional problems.
